Analysis and Optimization of Water Loss in Pharmaceutical ETP
Analysis and Optimization of Water Loss in Pharmaceutical ETP
As part of an Industrial Training project at Synovia Pharma PLC, significant water loss in the pharmaceutical Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) was analyzed. Key issues identified included calibration problems in measuring devices, improper placement of inlet flow meters causing pressure loss and potential cavitation, undetectable leakage in aging underground pipes, and minor evaporation and sludge content losses. Proposed solutions involved installing new flow meters at optimal locations, assessing pipeline integrity, and ensuring proper sealing of components to enhance water management efficiency.
Several faulty flow meters used in the ETP were thoroughly inspected and subsequently replaced.
